Executive Director

Wendy Kirts

Wendy the Executive Director of The Arc of Bartholomew County. She is also a lifelong Columbus resident who joined the Arc Board of Directors and then the Executive Board in 2023. She has been engaged with disability advocacy for nearly 30 years. She is a wife, and proud mom of three, her middle son being an individual with intellectual and physical disabilities. Her work is fueled by personal experience and professional commitment.

She has worked for Medicaid Waiver providers in multiple capacities, her last position being Director of Direct Supports. In 2023, the Arc of Bartholomew County awarded Wendy Business Professional of the Year for her efforts in advocacy on a professional level. 

Office Manager

David A. Walby

David Walby is a Fall 2023 graduate of Indiana University with a B.A. in English. He is a lifelong resident of Columbus, Indiana. He has a passion for creative endeavors and is a publish writer, artist, and poet. He seeks to improve himself and the world around him as much as he can through his words and creative works.

His family has been involved in disability advocacy for three generations and David finds it a privilege to be able to work for The Arc and continue that legacy of helping others. One step at a time we can improve ourselves, our society, and pace towards perfection.

Executive Assistant

Jonathan J. Ward

Jonathan Ward is a 2022 Graduate of Indiana University with a B.S. in Microbiology and a 2024 Masters Graduate with a M.S. in Biotechnology. He grew up in Columbus attending Columbus North, and has a love for all things nerdy, enjoying reading sci-fi and fantasy books or playing dungeons & dragons in his free time.

He believes in the mission of The Arc and is honored to be able to make an impact on the community through help in accomplishing their mission. The Arc of Bartholomew County's impact cannot be understated and he hopes to be a part of the meaningful change he knows they provide.

Intern

Ashley Landero

My name is Ashley Landero, and I am a senior at Indiana University Bloomington majoring in Community Health. I am passionate about supporting inclusive, healthy communities and promoting equitable access to resources. I am excited to intern with The Arc of Bartholomew County, where I hope to apply my academic experience, learn from dedicated professionals, and contribute to meaningful advocacy and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
