I CAN 5K & Autism Walk

  • W.D. Richards Elementary School 3311 Fairlawn Drive Columbus, IN, 47203 United States (map)

The Columbus Autism Network's annual fundraiser helps support family friendly/autism friendly activities throughout the year for our families and caregivers. The funds also assist in funding TWO scholarships through the Heritage Fund.

Due to continuing rise in COVID 19 cases, the iCAN 5K event scheduled for October 31, 2020 has been shifted to allow families and community members to still participate in supporting the Autism community. We are committed to safeguarding our families and our community from this pandemic, therefore please see below that outline the detailed changes for our event.

  • On October 31, 2020, from 9-11 am, families and community members can DRIVE BY W.D. Richards Elementary school (3311 Fairlawn Drive) to drop off a monetary donation, pick up shirts/swag (for those that have registered), and participate in the kids’ costume contest.

  • Donations will be accepted through November 1 at https://ican5k.eventbrite.com.  All monetary donations are used to support the Columbus Autism Network families by offered autism friendly events for families, parent nights out, student scholarship, just to name a few.  We are committed this upcoming year to expand our website as well as to offer some virtual options for families and parents.  We will be vigilant in offering family support via gift cards and other avenues if we cannot do “real time” gatherings.

  • CAN is holding a VIRTUAL SILENT AUCTION this year from Friday, October 23 to Friday, November 6.  Please see items and place your bids via our webpage at columbusautismnetwork.com.  We have some GREAT baskets!  All bids will be accepted virtually and winners will be contacted on Friday, November 6.  Pick up of items will be coordinated through The Arc of Bartholomew County.

  • You can also join The Arc of Bartholomew County at this site as well.  Your membership will support the entire Bartholomew County community by helping to build advocacy programming for individuals with disabilities.

  • Families that wish to join the Columbus Autism Network or if you need more information, email columbusautismnetwork@gmail.com

  • For anyone that registered for the 5K with Indiana Timing, you should check with Indiana Timing at http://www.indianatiming.com/ to see updates for the 5K changes.  They will be offering an alternative 5K for those that still wish to participate in a 5K.
