The Arc Needs You!
The Arc depends on its volunteers for information on what's going on in our community. We are always looking for volunteers to help with community events, fundraisers and office work. We have several committees that are all volunteer driven. Please read the volunteer descriptions below.

Governmental Affairs

Advocate, influence and educate elected officials and public policy makers about disability related issues.

Scholarship Committee

Promote The Arc’s Ben Baker Memorial Scholarship by preparing, distributing, soliciting and evaluating scholarship applications, and make recommendation as to the recipients of the scholarship.

Membership and Awareness

Through collaboration and fostering sustained memberships and partnerships, the committee organizes, coordinates, and conducts community awareness, activities and member programs that support and promote parent advocacy and self-advocacy and determination. Conducts Scenes of Inclusion: A Disability Film Series.

Fundraising

Develop and implement strategies and activities that increase The Arc’s revenues.

Library

Develop and provide resources and “tools” regarding selection of community supports and services, sharing “best practices” to ensure new and/or improved quality services and supports. As a clearinghouse for gathering and disseminating information regarding disabilities, provide information, resources, and materials to individuals, families and professionals by coordinating, expanding, improving and promoting the Library and Resource Information Center and The Arc’s Toy Chest program. Sponsor training and education programs.
